The coupling secures a first reinforcing rod embedded in concrete to a second one, both rods having threaded ends. It comprises first and second tapped sleeves (5,6) screwing onto the ends of the respective bars (2,3) and a third sleeve (7) securing the first two toqether. The third sleeve engages in a recess (11) in the end of the first one, which is cast into the concrete (4), with its end face flush with the end of the latter, formed by shuttering (23).
