PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform proportional printing or right aligning treatment even if a dot printer is used, in a printing control apparatus for selecting and outputting a dot pattern corresponding to a code, by setting the width of the dot pattern to a width wherein blank dot matrix each having a definite size are respectively added to both sides of the dot matrix of a character. CONSTITUTION:The width of a character or a mark is set to a width wherein blank dot matrix each having a definite size are respectively added to both sides of the dot matrix of a character showing the character or the mark itself. That is, as a font pattern for performing proportional printing, a matrix size in a width direction is prescribed corresponding to the substantial character width. Concretely, a character I having a character width W1 has one wherein blank dot regions L1, L2 are respectively added to the left and right sides of said character I as a font pattern. In this case, the font pattern read from a font table 11 on the basis of the content of a start dot table 12 is stored in image buffer 10. |
