PURPOSE:To detect quickly the generation of a failure at a transmission side at a reception side by transmitting a periodical pulse for diagnosing the failure when a transmission data is not generated and also deciding the periodicity of a failed diagnosis pulse at the receiving side. CONSTITUTION:A code generator 2 outputs a 5C2 code as a control code for load in response to switches S0-S8. When the switches S0-S8 of a switch array 1 are inoperative, a switching transistor S9 is turned on at each prescribed time (t) and the code for diagnosing a failure is outputted. An output of the code generator 2 is serial/parallel-converted and transmitted by a parallel/serial conversion and transmission circuit 5. A parallel/serial converter at the receiving side (not shown) converts the code into a parallel code, a code deciding circuit decodes it and an output in response to the transmission side switch is generated. The output is generated when a code for diagnosing the failure is received, the period is measured by a code period measuring circuit and decided by a period deciding circuit. |
