Soft cigarette packs have the disadvantage that, after the foil wrapper has been opened, they cannot be completely reclosed. Consequently the cigarettes dry out, tobacco shreds drop out and individual cigarettes may crumble. The invention provides a remedy in the form of an add-on device for cigarette packs, consisting of a wire frame with two parallel arms intended to engage in the wrapper which are connected by a web bearing a plate which is intended to bear on the closing surface of the cigarette pack and extends approximately over two thirds of the width and the complete thickness of the cigarette pack, and is adjoined by a lid which extends over the remainder of the width of the cigarette pack. The arms intended to engage in the wrapper are advantageously curved outwards, so that they bear with appropriate pre-stress after being inserted into the wrapper of the cigarette pack.
