The fastener chain has a pair of parallel stringer tapes to which are attached two rows of coupling elements. Along the length of the stringers are spaced separating zones which are transverse lines of reduced thickness made up of two aligned grooves. The grooves may be straight or in a zig-zag configuration. The stringers can be torn along the zones without using a cutting tool to divide the web up into sliding fastener lengths. The separating zones are thin enough to be torn by hard but thick enough not to tear during transporation. |
