摘要 The invention relates to an apparatus for finding, characterising and checking the position and size of faults in pipes and determining the length of the pipe while it is being moved longitudinally and simultaneously rotated about its longitudinal axis. The object is to solve the problem of recording the precise position of, and labelling faults determined while testing the rotating and advancing pipe and to find and characterise the faults in terms of size and, optionally, in terms of different types of fault (cracks or dimensional errors). To solve this problem, the combination of features characterising apparatus the combination of features is that two contact-free pulse generators (light barriers 2, 3) which are connected to a computer (6) and serve to determine the feed speed and the length of the pipe (1) are mounted one behind the other at the front end of the apparatus and that the last of the two pulse generators (3) in the feed direction of the pipe (1) is followed by a fault test head (7) comprising at least one test head (7) which tests the pipe circumference for faults and is connected to the computer (6), these being adjacent thereto a labelling device (8) connected to the computer (6) and a luminescence scanner (9), which is also connected to the computer (6), for checking the positional values, previously fed into the computer, of the fault. <IMAGE>
