An apparatus for the harvesting of timber is described which consists of a two-wheeled tractor which is equipped with an engageable and disengageable power take-off and has a drive engine and a shift transmission as well as a trailer coupling and additional devices, which apparatus can be designed as a means of generating electric current or hydraulic pressure or as a drive for a rope winch or as skidding means or as a stanchion trailer.
