The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for preventing melt from flowing backward and, more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for preventing melt from flowing backward, which prevent molten steel from flowing backward to the inside of a nozzle when the molten steel is injected to a tundish through the nozzle after the replacement of a ladle. The apparatus for preventing melt from flowing backward comprises: a nozzle which discharges the metal stored in a first container to a second container; a vacuum port hole which connects the outer wall of the nozzle to the flow path of the nozzle therethrough; a vacuum pump which vacuumizes the flow path of the nozzle; and a vacuum flow path pipe which connects the vacuum pump to the vacuum port hole. |
