PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of compressor by employing a resilient tube as a chip seal then opening the high pressure side while enclosing the low pressure side and feeding high pressure into the tube and effectively sealing the gap at the tip of a spiral body through expansion of resilient body. CONSTITUTION:A tubed chip seal 9 has an open high pressure end 11 and an enclosed low pressure end 12. The entirety is bent spirally and fitted into a chip seal groove 6 formed at the tip of spiral body 5 of fixed scroll 1 and rolling scroll 2. Upon motion of scroll, compressed high pressure gas will enter through the open high pressure end 11 of the tubed chip seal 9 into the hollow section 10 of tube to expand the chip seal 9 thus to seal the gap between both scrolls efficiently. The cross-section of the chip seal 9 is not limited to circle. |
