PURPOSE:To raise a polishing speed and improve processing accuracy while increasing the momentum of a workpiece by providing workpiece guide holes through workpiece guide plates each of which turns around its own axis, being slidably fitted in each of one or more of holes arranged in a gear body whose outer periphery is tooth-shaped. CONSTITUTION:A polishing carrier is constituted by a gear-shaped outer peripheral part 11, a body 13 having one or more of holes 12, and workpiece guide plates 16 each having a circumferential part 14 slidably fitted in each of the holes 12 and each workpiece guide hole 15. The guide plate 16 is inscribed in the hole 12 and further turns around its own axis by separating, in this manner, the body 13 transmitting any rotation and the guide plate 16 for setting the workpiece from each other, so that the workpiece set to the guide plate 16 is given an extremely large momentum as compared with conventional cases. Accordingly, it is possible to raise a polishing speed along with the improvement of processing accuracy by a synergistic effect of the increase in the polishing amount per unit time and the possibility of uniform polishing over the surface to be polished of the workpiece. |
