The invention relates to a passenger vehicle (1) with a folding roof (9). The folding roof (9) is constructed here, in contrast with the customary convertible structures, as a fixed component and can be folded behind the front seat about an axis of rotation formed by bearings (19). The axis of rotation is located here approximately in the region of the elbow plate of the window behind the front doors. In an expedient further development of the invention, a cover flap (14) is proposed which covers a storage space (12) for the folding roof (9) from the top and which can be opened when the folding roof (9) is folded down in order to increase the fold-in opening. In accordance with a further embodiment of the invention, the bearings (19) can be displaceable on guide rails or connected to coupling rods at further points of rotation on the folding roof (16) so that in different types of vehicle the folding roof (9) can be moved into a suitable storage space (12). The folding of a fixed roof component permits the disadvantages of a customary folding roof structure in a roadster with linkage, tarpaulin and folding window, such as wear, leaks, generation of noise etc. to be eliminated. <IMAGE>
