PURPOSE:To enable to print with high resolution on an ordinary paper by a simple process and enable to print inexpensively without requiring rearrangement, by using a printing medium obtained by sequentially laminating a conductor layer and a resistor layer on a base and providing a heat-fusible ink layer on the back side of the base. CONSTITUTION:The conductor layer 2 consisting of a metallic foil or a vapor- deposited metallic film is provided on a base layer 3 such as polyethylene terephthalate, and the resistor layer 1 consisting of a resin and carbon particles or the like is laminated thereon. Further, the heat-fusible ink layer 4 is provided on the back side of the base layer 3. The thus obtained printing medium 5 is placed so that the ink layer 4 makes contact with an object 8 to be printed thereon, and a voltage is impressed between the conductor layer 2 and an electrode 6. As a result, the part 1' of the resistor layer 1 beneath the electrode is locally heated, and a part 4' of the ink layer 4 is locally heated through the conductor layer 2 and the base layer 3 and is melted. The ink thus melted is adhered to the object 8 to produce an image. |
