PURPOSE:To set a spindle and quill in good alignment with a feed screw, by furnishing a push rod in the feed screw in such a way as movable freely in the axial direction, and by installing a shaft, for mounting and removal of a tool, on the spindle in such a manner as movable in the axial direction freely. CONSTITUTION:A quill 9 is set in a spindle 1 elevatably, and in this quill 9 a main shaft 8 is borne rotatably. A tool mounting and separating shaft 11 is elevatably inserted in the lower part of a through hole 10 provided in said main shaft 8, while a feed screw 14 for elevating and sinking the main shaft 8 is rotatably inserted at the upper part of said shaft 11. A through hole is bored in the feed screw 14 at its core part, and a push rod 31 to push the shaft 11 is inserted in this through hole, in such a way as movable in the through hole in the axial direction. This provides possibility of putting the spindle 8 and quill 9 in good alignment with the feed screw 14 without impairing the straightness in feeding the quill.
