For simpler and more secure fastening of the heel or cover piece on plastic heels, the pin nail is inserted into the pin hole of the heel with its rounded or slightly inwardly bevelled end and driven into the depth of the pin hole. The heel piece is positioned on that part of the pin nail with the nail points which projects beyond the plastic heel, driven into the points and easily riveted.
