PURPOSE:To permit the execution of interruption command for minimizing the interrupting time during automatic running by automating the judgement of every content of control command related to the interchange of tools and the change of execution period. CONSTITUTION:When an interruption command relating to a tool interchange unit is produced during automatic running following a program, the execution is immediately started. During the execution of interruption command (shown in I ), when the command for directly interchanging tools with a machine tool becomes effective, the tool interchanging command and the proceeding of succeeding program are interrupted to stand ready for the completion of interruption processing. If other held commands remains after such completion, these are executed according to priority and then the tool interchanging command is directly executed. After the completion, the proceeding of the succeeding program is resumed to be returned to the usual automatic running (shown in II). Thus, the interruption command for maximizing the interrupting time during the automatic running can be executed.
