PURPOSE:To enable to operate at a high speed and to endure against use of long time by separately providing a circuit at a generator operating time and a circuit at a motor operating time, and controlling a circuit switching with relay means and mode switching means. CONSTITUTION:When a rotary electric machine is used as a motor, switches 59, 60 are closed. An electromagnetic coil 580 of a relay 57 is energized by a DC power source 50, and movable pieces 578, 579 are contacted with contacts 571, 574 and contacts 573, 576. Thus, an electromagnetic coil 33 generate an electromagnetic force, and a brush 22 for a commutator is contacted with a commutator 21. An armature conductor 4 for a generator and an armature conductor 24 for a motor are energized to generate a rotary force. When the rotary electric machine is used as a generator, the switch 59 is opened. A brush 22 for a commutator is separated from the contacting surface of the commutator 21, and a field conductor 23 for the generator is energized. A current is flowed to armature conductors 4-6 for the generator. |
