The invention deals with a selective-cut heading machine 1 which is equipped with a winning tool 4 mounted on a pivotable support arm 3 and a machine frame 2 which holds the support arm 3 and rests on a horizontal platform 5 which is supported by link pairs 6, 6'. The links 6, 6' are formed by hydraulic cylinders 9 which act on the platform 5 and on a slide 10 resting on the roadway floor. The link pairs 6, 6' enable the platform 5 for the selective-cut heading machine 1 to be lifted parallel to the floor and moved parallel to the heading face in order to substantially expand the effective range of the selective-cut heading machine 1 in the vertical and in the horizontal. <IMAGE>
