In a withdrawal device for the roadway support system in underground working, consisting of overlapping support-section segments held together with clamped connections, which withdrawal device consists of a gripper and a clamping device, provision is made according to the invention for the clamping device to be a toggle-joint lever arrangement which can be pivoted with a handle past its dead centre and whose link carrying the toggle joint is linked to the hook of the gripper leg, the other gripper leg which interacts with the gripper joint being designed as a double-arm rocker, one arm of which has an articulated support bracket which can be placed against the support-section base and the other arm of which carries the connecting joint to which the other link of the toggle-joint arrangement is connected.
