<p>PURPOSE:To enhance reliability in supplying a paper sheet, by energizing a separating roller to the side of the paper sheet to bring the roller into contact with the paper sheet at an extreme end position by passing an electric current to a plunger mechanism only when a platen is reversely rotated for supplying the paper sheet, in a typewriter or the like. CONSTITUTION:When a switch for supplying a paper sheet 57 contained in a cassette 55 is turned ON, a motor 16 on the business machine side is started to reversely rotate the platen 13, and a solenoid 67 is energized to press the separating roller 34 against the paper sheet 57 located at the extreme end position, only one sheet is taken out by rotating the roller 34, and is supplied between the platen 13 and a pinch roller 14, upon which the sheet is maintained in a fixed position. In this case, the lower end of the paper sheet 57 is contacted by the platen 13 and the pinch roller 14, while an upper end part of the sheet is contacted by the separating roller 34, so that the sheet is inhibited from moving backward. When a printing operation is subsequently performed, the sheet is supplied along a paper guide 15 by a forward rotation of the platen 13, and the solenoid 67 is de-energized to separate the roller 34. Accordingly, reliability in supplying a paper sheet can be enhanced.</p> |
