PURPOSE:To manufacture, by rolling, a band-or-sheet-shaped metal excellent in flatness and having continuous partially-checkered pattern in the rolling direction by forming a part having a projecting and recessing checkered pattern on the surface of one roll of a pair of final finishing rolls having plus crowns. CONSTITUTION:A pair of the final finishing rolls 1, 2 of finishing rolling rolls are provided with plus crowns, and also the roll 1 of one side is provided with a part A having projecting and recessing checkered pattern and a part B having no checkered pattern and slightly slenderized by providing the outer diametral difference to the whole circumference of roll gradually from the part A to both sides of roll. The quantity of rolling deformation of a material 3 to be rolled caused by the difference of ductilities between the checkered part and the flat one is absorbed and dispersed by finish rolling the material 3 by the rolls 1, 2, and a projecting and recessing checkered pattern is provided continuously in the rolling direction and partially in the direction of roll axis, as well as an excellent finished flatness, to a band-or-sheet-shaped metal product. |
