PURPOSE:To compress a material to be treated to a high density with high efficiency by providing oppositely the same number of pressing rollers in the respective belt spaces of upper and lower endless steel strips and compressing the material in multiple stages. CONSTITUTION:Respectively similar pressing rollers 3, 4 are provided in the belt space 12 of an upper endless steel strip 1 and the belt space 22 of a lower endless steel strip 2. The rollers 3 and the rollers 4 are provided in a pair above and below. The lower belt 11 of the strip 1 and the upper belt 21 of the strip 2 are mated and a set of the strips 1, 2 are continuously driven at an equal speed in the directions opposite to each other. The granular body fed into the space between both belts 11 and 21 are deaerated and compressed between the first pair of rollers and is molded to a plate shape. The granular body is then successively compressed to a high density by the plural roller pairs in the lower stage. The material having a high density is continuously obtd. with less escape of the material during compression according to such device.
