PURPOSE:To improve the adhesive strength between a base and a magnetic layer greatly by irradiating a magnetic-layer formation surface of the base with energy particles which contain oxygen in the early stage of magnetic layer formation. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic-layer formation surface of the base is irradiated with energy particles which contain oxygen with >=10eV, specially, 10eV-10keV energy in the early stage of the formation of a magnetic layer. In this case, the energy particles contain normally >=20st% of the oxygen. Ion gas is used for said irradiation with the energy particles. The ion gas makes the gas into plasma by cold cathode discharge, etc., and a gas component and an active neutral gas component which are ionized as mentioned above are taken out as beams to strike the surface. Thus, the adhesive strength between the base and magnetic layer is improved greatly. |
