PURPOSE:To provide a titled dial having a two-color surface film for ornamentation by coating Ti, Nb, Ta, etc. by vapor deposition, etc. on the surface of a base plate, and coating said metals different from the previous time in a part thereof then anodizing the coating. CONSTITUTION:After the surface of a base plate 1 for a metallic dial formed of brass of german silver is patterned, a metallic film 2 of 4a or 5a group in periodic table, such as Ti, Nb, Ta or the like, is coated on said surface by vapor deposition, ion plating, sputtering, etc. A part of the surface of said dial 1 is then covered with a jig or by printing, etc. and further the metal among the 4a or 5a group of the periodic table different from the film 2 is coated thereon by vapor deposition, etc. and thereafter the jig, printing, etc. are removed and a metallic film 3 is formed on a part of the surface of the dial. The dial 1 coated with the metals is anodized to form anodized films 4, 5 colored to two colors by 2 kinds of metallic films 2, 3, by which the dial of two colors for a wristwatch having excellent ornamentality is obtd.
