PURPOSE:To make an optical disk player small-sized and thin by moving diagonally an optical pickup device against an exterior wall surface, and also providing a spindle shaft driving motor so as to be separated from a spindle shaft. CONSTITUTION:An optical pickup device 34 is moved in the diagonal direction against an exterior wall surface through a pickup driving motor 58. Accordingly, an optical disk player becomes that of a small-sized square which makes a circle being near an optical disk 22 an inscribed circle. On the other hand, a center spindle 33 is driven through a decelerating means by a center spindle driving motor 69 provided separately from the spindle 33, and comparing with the case when a center spindle driving motor using the spindle 33 as a revolving shaft is used, the optical disk player becomes thin. According to them, the optical disk player becomes small-sized and thin.
