PURPOSE:To improve the shelf life of a recording medium having an optical recording medium consisting of a resin component having a specific functional group and a light absorber and to decrease the deterioration in the S/N ratio thereof as a result of high temp. preservation after recording in particular by crosslinking the resin component by a metallic crosslinking agent. CONSTITUTION:A (co)polymer of monomers such as nitrocellulose, PVA, (meth)acrylic acid, maleic anhydride, polystyrene sulfonic acid, etc. having >=1 functional group selected from OH, COOH and SO3H are used as a resin. Polyhydric alcohol and polycarboxylic acid are added according to need as a spacer component to said resin. An org. compd. or chelate compd. such as alkoxide of Ti, Zr or Al is added to said resin as a crosslinking agent for the resin component. The resin and crosslinking agent are mixed together with a light absorber such as a cyanine dye at, for example, about 28:2: 70 by the weight of the resin: the crosslinking agent: the light absorber and at about 3:1 the ratio between the resin and the spacer to prepare a compsn. The coating soln. prepd. by dissolving such compsn. is coated on a base plate consisting of a plastic plate of which the surface is treated with a Ti chelate compd., etc. and is cured by heating. The recording layer which withstands high temp. preservation after recording in particular is thus obtd. |
