PURPOSE:To optimize the detection sensitivity of a tracking error signal when the operation is completed by moving an objective lens by a signal for track jumping in such a direction that the amplitude level of the tracking error signal increases. CONSTITUTION:When a search switching signal is outputted by receiving a track jumping command, a focus switching circuit 28 outputs the focus switching signal and the 2nd focus adjusting circuit 27 is connected to a phase comparator 233 during track jumping operation. This adjusting circuit 27 drives the objective to a specific position, so the amplitude level of the tracking signal is maximized to hold the detection sensitivity of the tracking error signal in the best state. Thus, the detection sensitivity of the tracking error signal is optimized when the track jumping operation is completed. |
