PURPOSE:To improve recording density by providing masks to the front surface of a disk while leaving a linear gap running on the center of the disk. CONSTITUTION:The masks 3a and 3b are arranged on the front surface of the disk 1 so that the gap 5 which runs on the center 4 of the disk 2 and is linear in the slanting direction of a turntable 1 is formed. The turntable 1 is rotated at an optional speed. When a vaporing source 6 is heated to vaporize ferromagnetic metal, the vaporized ferromagnetic metal sticks to the disk 2 slantingly through the gap 5. Thus, the formed magnetic layer has blending performance and its easy magnetization axis is invariably in the center direction, so the recording density of the magnetic disk is improved. |
