A method of hermetically sealing a predetermined quanity of alcohol into a chamber (4) provided at the bottom of a stackable disposable container (1) of plastics material by securing a lid or cover (7) having the thickness of foil to a ledge (5) defined at the transition of the chamber (4) with the remainder of the container (1). The method involves filling the container in such manner that the ledge (5) is not wetted by the alcohol and then securing, by a combination of the effect of heat and pressure acting on the material of the cover (7) and that of the ledge (5), the lid or cover to the ledge. Conveniently, a peripheral skirt (31) is provided around the periphery of the lid or cover which is not adhered to the container.
