PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and the image reproducibility of a red original by using a specific disazo compd. as an electric charge generating material. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer 19 of a lamination type consisting of an electric charge generating layer 15 composed essentially of a disazo pigment 13 expressed by the formula I and an electric charge transfer layer 17 composed essentially of an electric charge transport material is provided on a conductive base 11. The exemplary pigment 13 is expressed by the formulas II-IV. The layer 15 is made preferably 0.01-5mu thick. The layer 17 is made preferably 3- 50mu thick. The disazo pigment is compounded preferably at >=30wt% in the electric charge generating layer. A in the formula denotes the residual group of a coupler. Compds, having, for example, a phenolic hydroxyl group, and an aliphat. or arom. enolic ketone group are used for the coupler. |
