发明名称 MANUFACTURE OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To scatter uniformly and easily a glass fiber piece used as a spacer, between substrates, by suspending the glass fiber piece in an organic solvent, and scattering said suspension onto the substrate. CONSTITUTION:A transparent electrode 3 is formed on one main surface of an upper substrate 1 and a lower substrate 2. A glass fiber piece 4 is scattered onto the whole upper face of the lower substrate 2 by spraying the suspension obtained by dispersing the glass fiber piece into an organic solvent which does not react chemically to a liquid crystal material and whose evaporating speed is high, for instance, freon. The organic solvent is heated and evaporated, and the glass fiber piece 4 is scattered roughly uniformly. An epoxy resin 5 is applied as a sealing material to the circumferential edge part, the inside is packed with a liquid crystal material 6, the upper substrate 1 is put on it, and the lower substrate 2 and the upper substrate 1 are adhered to each other. A prescribed scatter density is obtained with good reproducibility by controlling the quantity of the glass fiber to the organic solvent, to a prescribed value.
