Benzoquinolizines of the general formula <IMAGE> and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts, in which R denotes hydrogen or lower alkyl, R1 and R2, which can be identical or different, denote hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or halogen, R3 and R4, which can be identical or different, each denotes lower alkyl, halogen(lower)alkyl or -aryl, and A denotes a lower alkylene group having 1-3 carbon atoms in the chain between two N atoms. The compounds of the formula I possess α2-adrenoceptor-antagonistic activity in homeothermic animals. |
