PURPOSE:To reduce the entire air conditioner in size by providing a commutator made of a porous plate formed with a hole at the position opposed to an impeller of a blower, thereby eliminating an air chamber. CONSTITUTION:In an air conditioner in a building which high power equipments are respectively contained in partitioned rooms in high thermal density like an atomic power plant, a casing 5 is formed in a box shape having an air intake port 5a at one end side and an air diffuser 5b at the other end side to flow air to be cooled horizontally. A commutator 12, a filter 13 and a heat exchanger 14 are arranged horizontally in this order at the downstream side of the blower 11 in the casing 5.
