PURPOSE:To surely bring granules in a furnace into the state to form fluidized layer and consequently enhance the cooling effect by a structure wherein a falling control device of granule, which moves in a proper way such as rotates, oscillates, vibrates or the like, is horizontally installed in a shaft type cooling furnace. CONSTITUTION:A shaft type cooling furnace 1 consists in providing a charging hopper 2, in which high temperature granules are charged, at its upper part, a cutting-out device to take out cooled granules at its bottom, a cooling gas inlet 4 and a cooling gas outlet 5, both of which are arranged so as to flow cooling gas upward in the furnace 1, and a falling control device of granule 6 to give proper movement to granules, which is horizontally installed in the furnace 1. The high temperature granules 10 fed from the charging hopper 2 to the cooling furnace 1 are piled up onto the falling control device of granule 6 at the uppermost stage and, due to the movement of said control device at the middle stage, fallen down onto the falling control device of granule at the lower stage. By repeating falling movements as mentioned above, the granules 10 fall down in the cooling furnace 1. The cooling gas blown in the cooling furnace 1 from the inlet 4 passes among the granules, which are in fluidized state and allow for gas to easily pass through, and flows upward in the cooling furnace 1 while cooling the high temperature granules. |
