ELECTROSTATIC IMAGING APPARATUS AND METHOD PROVIDING STABLE REFERENCE POTENTIAL Electrostatic imaging with an imaging member of the kind having a charge-retentive layer and a conductive layer is improved by directing an alternating corona current to such conductive layer, detecting the electrical potential of the conductive layer and adjusting the net alternating corona current to maintain the conductive layer potential closely proximate a desired nominal reference potential level.
