PURPOSE:The titled composition, consisting of an emulsion of a copolymer obtained by emulsion polymerizing a specific acrylic monomer, etc., having improved interlaminar adhesion to ultraviolet light curing coating materials, capable of forming coating films having a high hardness, and useful for priming wood, e.g. plywood and sliced veneers, etc. CONSTITUTION:A composition consisting of an emulsion of a copolymer (7- 10pH and 30-60% solid) obtained by emulsion polymerizing a monomeric mixture consisting of (A) 10-50wt% (in the resin) acrylic monomer expressed by the formula (R1 is H or methyl; R2 and R3 are H or alkyl; n is an integer 1-3), e.g. diethylaminoethyl (meth)acrylate, and (B) a copolymerizable monomer, e.g. an alkyl ester.
