Provided are a recombinant cell in which overexpression of a mitochondrial pyruvate carrier (MPC) gene is induced; a composition used to produce a target polypeptide, which includes the recombinant cell and/or a recombinant vector including an MPC gene; and a production method of a target polypeptide using the recombinant cell. The recombinant cell can be practically used to massively produce various therapeutic proteins. The production method of a target polypeptide comprises the following step: cultivating a recombinant cell in which overexpression of an MPC gene is induced.
