PURPOSE:To wind a pipe or rod in coil at the outlet side of a mill without twisting them by using a pipe-or-rod winding device disposed close to a skew rolling mill for rolling the pipe or rod and winding it which is being rotated by rolling. CONSTITUTION:A table at the outlet side of a skew rolling mill 1 can be shortened, by disposing a pipe-or-rod winder 2 close to the mill 1 used for rolling a pipe, rod, or rope-shaped body 6, and winding the pipe or rod 6 of long columned body, etc., which is being rotated by the skew rolling by a winding frame 5 attached to a base disk 7 rotated by a motor 8 through a rotary guiding pipe 4. Further, in said method, the pipe or rod 6 is wound up without being twisted at the outlet side of the mill 1 by satisfying the following relative equations; (n)=(w), N=(v)/piD-(n), where, (v), m/s; the advancing speed of pipe or rod 6 at the outlet side of mill 1, (w), rps; the number of revolutions of rod or pipe 6, (n), rps; the number of revolutions of pipe 4, N, rps; the number of revolutions of frame 5, and D, m; winding diameter. |
