PURPOSE:To provide a welding carriage which performs stably continuous welding without decreasing the profiling performance of the carriage by providing a difference between the respective distances between the three driving wheels of the carriage and the pitch of holes or recesses as a drain hole during traveling. CONSTITUTION:A motor 14 is driven to rotate simultaneously three driving wheels 3a, 3b, 25 in the same direction thereby advancing or retreating a carriage body 9 on which a welding torch 7 is mounted. When, for example, the driving wheel 3a comes to the position of a hole 8 which is a drain hole, during execution of fillet welding of a vertical member 1 and a horizontal plate 2, the wheel 3a drops into the hole 8, but since the distance l1 between said wheels 3a and 3b and the distance l2 between the wheel 3b and the freshly provided wheel 25 are not equal to the pitch of the hole 8, the wheels 3b and 25 roll by being attracted to the member 1 and the carriage travels smoothly. When the wheel 3b comes to the position of the hole 8 after the wheel 3a passes the position of the hole 8 and is attracted again to the vertical surface of the member 1, the wheels 3a and 25 are in the position where these wheels roll by being attracted to the member 1 and therefore the carriage can be run by the rotation of the two wheels 3b, 25. |
