PURPOSE:To vibrate sufficiently the filter cloth without damaging the filter cloth by giving a horizontal displacement to a vibrating head through a vibrating plate, and changing successively the pressing direction to a filter cloth hanging bar without rubbing the filter cloth. CONSTITUTION:The apparatus consists of a moving support 5 which is freely movable back and forth in the opening direction of a filter plate, a crank driving means 7 provided to the support 5 so that a vibrating plate driving shaft 6 may be directed at a right angle to the opening direction of the filter plate, a vibrating plate 8 which is combined with a crank 6a at one end of the vibration driving shaft 6 of which the upper side surface is supported and pivoted on the support 5 and the lower side surface is supported movably to the support 5 in the range wherein the crank 6a is allowed to move, a vibrating head 9 which is capable of descending to the position where the head 9 is able to act on a filter cloth hanging bar 3 which is supported by the vibrating plate 8 and allowed to move up and down, and a head lifting means 10 for lifting up and down the vibrating head 9 against the vibrating plate 8. The filter cloth hanging bar 3 is vibrated while changing the pressing direction of the vibrating head 9, and the filter cloth 4 is vibrated.
