PURPOSE:To provide a titled centering device which permits sure centering with a simple operation by inserting a device of which the axial center of the central rod is preliminarily adjusted to coincide with the center of pipes to be joined into the prescribed position of the pipes and feeding an oil into a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:This device is inserted into roughly positioned two pipe materials 17, 17' from one of said materials and is pushed until the centerline of a groove 10 to be inserted with a backing material provided on the outside circumferential surface of a clamping block 7 is positioned in the middle of a groove part 18. A small-sized jack 12 for fixing is then operated to fix the device in this position. A moving member 2 is positioned near the right side of the figure and the annular diameter of the block 7 group is made smallest. A spacer having the adequate thickness at which the groove width attains a prescribed spacing is inserted into the groove 18 and thereafter an oil is fed 13 into a cylinder 6 to move gradually the member 2 together with the piston 3 toward the left. The pressing fitting 4 at the top end of the member 2 is also moved left and the fitting 4 during this movement expands gradually the annular diameter of the block 7 group, thereby centering the two materials 17, 17' and fixing the same by means of the block 7 group from the inside of the pipes. |
