PURPOSE:To decreace moisture permeability without generation of optical rotatory power and to prevent deterioration of a liquid crystal by hydrolysis by forming one base plate of a plastic and specifying the thickness of said base plate and the thickness of the coating layer thereon. CONSTITUTION:Base plates 1, 2 of a phenoxy resin sandwich a liquid crystal layer 3. A transparent conductive film 4 of SuO2, etc. is formed on the layer 3 side surface of the plates 1, 2, and a resin layer 5 of polyvinyldene chloride is formed on the opposite side. An oriented film 6 is formed on the film 4. The plates 1, 2 are 0.03-0.5mm. thick and the reduction in the thickness is intended. The display body is made strong to bending. The thickness of the film 5 is 5- 50mum. The layer 5 is formed by coating a polyvinylidene chloride resin dissolved in a suitable solvent on the plates 1, 2 by brushing, dipping, screen printing, offset printing, gravure printing, etc. or sticking together the films of polyvinylidene chloride. |
