PURPOSE:To secure storage stability and release of a photographic useful reagent by processing a silver halide photosensitive material incorporating a blocked photographic reagent capable of releasing the photographic useful reagent in the presence of a compd. having a specified group. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material having a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer incorporating a blocked photographic reagent capable of releasing a photographic useful reagent is processed in the presence of a compd. having at least one group represented by general formula I in which X is -CO-, -CS-, -SO2-, or -SO-; Y is H, an ion pair, or a hydrolyzable group. A preferable compd. having a group of formula I is such as general formula II in which X is -CO-, -CS-, -SO2-, or -SO-; Y is H, an ion pair, or a hydrolyzable group; and R<1>, R<2> are each a substituent. |
