PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a sleeve and the damage or the like of each part of a device by covering the developing sleeve with a protection cover interlocked with the operation of a handle which is used for detaching the developing device. CONSTITUTION:When the device is operated, a developing device 9 is set in a prescribed position by a stopping member 27. When the device 9 is detached, a lever 25 of a door is turned around a supporting shaft 26, and the member 27 raises a projection 9a, to match the leg parts 30 and 31 of the device 9 with a rail 29. Then, the device 9 is pulled out along the rail 29 and is stopped by the stopping member and is taken out from the device body with a handle 32 with the user's hand. When members 40, 46, and 39 are driven around a shaft 42 with a connecting member 44 by the pulling-up operation of the handle 32, a sleeve protecting cover 39 and a protecting cover 36 for thrust roll are turned around the shaft 38 at the circumference of a developing sleeve 34 to cover and protect the sleeve 34.
