PURPOSE:To obtain a captioned separator excellent in the charge restoring property while not inferior to the former one in a liquid absorption rate, the maximum hole diameter and tensile strength by mixing the respectively specific two kinds of glass fiber and fibril-shaped synthetic fiber in the specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of 50-80wt% of glass fiber having the fiber diameter 2-9mu, 10-45wt% of glass fiber having the fiber diameter not exceeding 2mu and not exceeding 10wt% of the fibril-shaped synthetic fiber having a water filtration degree not exceeding 350cc is used. It is required to contain not less than 50wt% of glass fiber having the fiber diameter 2mu for improving the charge restoring property while corrupting the liquid absorption rate, enlarging the maximum hole diameter and worsening battery performance when exceeding 80wt%. Further, glass fiber having the fiber diameter not exceeding 2mu reduces the liquid absorption rate and enlarges the maximum hole diameter while lowering the charge restoring property when exceeding 45wt%. |
