PURPOSE:To easily prepare a fiber sample, by a method wherein a pattern formed by a computer graphic device is recorded directly on a fabric black material, or the pattern is once recorded on a transfer paper and is then recorded on the fiber blank material by using the recorded transfer paper. CONSTITUTION:An output from the computer graphic device is supplied to a thermal transfer printer, to which the fiber blank material is supplied in place of an ordinary recording paper as a recording medium. Where the fiber blank material per se has poor nerve and can not be favorably supplied to the printer, a paper or film or the like is preliminarily laminated on the back side of the fabric blank material. A thermal transfer paper and the fiber blank material are supplied to the printer in a laminated state, the printer selectively heats a disperse dye of the transfer paper by a thermal head on the basis of image data supplied from the computer graphic device, whereby the dye is transferred to the fabric blank material, and the image is recorded directly on the blank material. The fiber blank material thus recorded with the image is used as a fiber sample, either directly as it is or after removing the paper, film or the like from the back side thereof. |
