PURPOSE:To have sure transport of sheets of paper by switching the drive of a roller interlocked with the switching of a paper feed mechanism, and by allowing a single sheet passage to serve both for manual and automatic feeding of the sheets. CONSTITUTION:A drive switching means is provided, in which the sheet path of a manual sheet feeding mechanism converges with the sheet path 108 of an automatic sheet feeding mechanism 100 between a send-out roller 102 and a handling mechanism 105, and in which a sheet advance checking function using a handling roller 107 is put out of operation by switching the drive of said halding mechanism 105 while feed of sheets is being made by hand. This will not impair the advantage of this arrangement as having the manual feed path 205 and automatic feed path 108 commonly to ensure that the sheet feed by hand is carried out surely. |
