PURPOSE:To provide a combustion promoter for gasoline and diesel engines which forms no harmful gas nor products in combustion and has an improved cetane number, prepared by adding olive oil, castor oil and lithium borohydride to an aromatic solvent solution of a specified chemical substance. CONSTITUTION:The combustion promotor is prepared by adding olive oil, castor oil and lithium borohydride to an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent solution of a chemical substance such as bicyclopentadienyliron, methylcyclopentadienylmagnesium tricarbonyl, iron naphthenate, barium naphthenate, PP or PE. EFFECT:Generation of incombustible gas causative of formation of graphite is reduced by 10-20%, leading to a decrease in amounts of exhausted black smoke and CO to a marked extent.
