PURPOSE:To provide a cooling apparatus rationalized in the circulation of cooling water, by providing weakly cooling and forcibly cooling pipe laminar nozzles to an upper pipe laminar header while providing a mechanism for changing over the continuity of cooling water to both nozzles through the movement of said header. CONSTITUTION:Lower spray headers 7, 9 and upper pipe laminar headers 11 are arranged opposed so as to cool a steel plate 6 in the process for passing the plate. Weakly cooling pipe laminar nozzles 14 and forcibly cooling pipe laminar nozzles 15 are alternately provided to the outer pipe 13 of each upper pipe laminar header 11. An extendable cylinder 19 is interposed between the outer pipe 13 and a stand 18 and an inner pipe 12 and the outer pipe 13 are made relatively movable in the axial direction thereof. In addition, a slit is opened on the axial line of the attachment part to the inner pipe 12 and the outer pipe 13 are allowed to be communicated with or blocked from both nozzles 14, 15 through the relative movement of the inner and the outer pipes 12, 13 due to the extension or contraction of the cylinder 19. By the cooling water change-over mechanism, the flow amount of cooling water can be controlled over a wide range. |
