PURPOSE:To enhance the bending processability, the scratch resistance and the corrosion resistance of the titled composition, which is obtained by containing an emulsion of polymer particles each formed of an alpha,beta-ethylenic unsaturated monomer having protective colloid and a water soluble Cr-compound. CONSTITUTION:This composition for surface treatment of a corrosion resistant metal contains two components A, B as mentioned hereinbelow as essential components. That is, the component A is a polymer particle emulsion of one or more of an alpha,beta-ethylenic unsaturated monomer formed into internally gelled hard polymer particles having an average particle of 0.1-3mum and a glass transition temp. of 15-110 deg.C containing an oligomer having a hydrophilic group as protective colloid while the component B is a water soluble Cr-compound wherein 25-50wt% of total Cr-content is trivalent Cr. In this composition, both components A, B are contained in such a wt. ratio that the solid component A and metal Cr is 1:10-5:1.
