The invention relates to a crank for a fishing reel which carries a braking device 12, 13, 14, 15 which is designed to act on the fishing reel spindle 5; this device is housed in the crank head 10 and comprises a control button 15 which closes the said head. Furthermore, the crank preferably carries a disengageable anti-return device 9, 22, 23, 24 an audible ratchet 16 and a disengagement device 12, 17, 18, 19, 20. <IMAGE>
